This idiot has been on craigslist for awhile trying to build a system. He’s building a system using pc133 memory I believe, and a 1.7 Celeron.
He wants to install Vista on it.
Now I’m still learning, and probably will be forever, but I had a new Dell laptop that came with vista (1.6Ghz Turion X2, 1GB Ram).
It ran slow as hell…I went back to xp, and I got my speed back.
This guys doen’t stand a chance. could someone please let him know to either buy better hardware, or take XP and be happy??

I would recommend that you stay on XP as Vista is not yet stable. By stable, I mean that only some software is Vista-capable. Most of the population is still on XP or earlier.
The cost of upgrading to VISTA – is in my opinion a waste!
January 5, 2010, 8:48 amI’m not a Vista sceptic but I would recommend waiting atleast a year or two before upgrading to Vista!
