Of course I snapped myself up a 3rd Gen iPod as soon as I could.

Why would I have new knowledge on this? I’m on a Wordpress 100 binge. There is a sale at Domain Sheffif. Sure, Dot Info is not the coolest. But it suits my purposes.

OK…so should we go after that BIG KEYWORD? Are you drooling over it? OK be aware that others are drooling to. There are words farther down the screen that have LESS competition and convert to sales BETTER. What ever your keyword tool is, take note of the traffic farther down the list.

If you go for a BIG keyword on the top, like “IPOD” you may get say 12,000 hits per day. (That number is Just for Fun)

And the competition is 33.8 million competitors.
( Again, just an example)

See, awhile back I was looking through the numbers, and I found this great keyword phrase “signs of diabetes”. competition was very low, and in fact, I was looking around and I found a website that had expired called signs of diabetes.com. But wait a minute. is that phrase profitable? That this tool you can use, my treat:

Detecting Online Commercial Intention

Naturally the first question is how accurate is this thing? I can tell you I have not had a problems with it. I think it’s dead accurate. That particular keyword phrase does not look like it’s very profitable, and the fact that I found the extra URL floating around that had expired suggests that somebody had already tried it out.

But getting back to our ipod…let’s look down a bit and see if we can do some quick numbers.

There is only half the traffic for the Plural form of ipod, but take a look at the competition. It’s one twentieth. Meaning you multiply the one point seven times 20, and you get a number of its just about 33.8. So instead of working 20 times as hard, let’s only work twice as hard. We can build to or three websites, which is more trouble granted, but it’s not 20 times as much work. Plus, we can be number one in three different categories and have our ego stroked. Instead of going after the numb for one prize, and just sure, somebody will be going after us.

So just after this chart we have our next tool…
ipod
(click to dig deeper into this keyword)     per Day     12,215     Competition     33,800,000
ipods
(click to dig deeper into this keyword)         4,918         1,700,000
The Keyword-Rich Domain Suggestion Tool

Plugging in the phrase Apple Ipod ….it turns out that appleipodearphones.com is available. Hey, If not, put a 4 in front of it. Or a “2′ before earphones. You look around with this tool and decided if you see some other good URLs that might make good investments. But whatever you do…

Don’t let your Uncle Earl tell you that they broke the mold after he was born.

There are still ton’s of great URL’s left.

Think short and smart.
